A lot of us found it difficult to practice mindfulness as we didn’t have time to allocate for meditation. We assume that meditation has to be done in a quiet and peaceful place without being distracted. With that meditation will not ever happen as our busy life cannot do it.
We know mindfulness is not easy, but we keep it up because we benefit from it. If we understand the meaning of mindfulness, it is awareness, aware of our thoughts and behaviour. In other words, we are practising to be able to be aware of our mind and thought process. The best place to train our awareness is our life, the busiest life. It serves as a space for us to notice the thoughts that arise and fall moment by moment. We can take this chance to be kind and generous, allow ourselves to stop for a moment, activate the being mode and live for the moment.
Once there is a chance you can take 5 minutes or even 1 minute of mindfulness, in other words, you have already remembered to stop and shift the moment from doing mode to being mode, that is wonderful. (Wherever You Go, There You Are, Jon Katba-Zinn).
Let me know how this helps you practice your mindfulness?
